Repent and believe—now!  This is today’s refrain.  The people of Nineveh put on sackcloth and ashes and immediately turn away from evil.  In response, God turns aside and does not pass judgment on them.  Jesus preaches the same thing: The time is at hand—repent and believe!  Turning aside from all sin, worldly distractions, and even daily labor is difficult. And yet, we ought to be aware of the urgency to leave all things behind and follow Jesus.
