This week’s theme continues where last week’s leaves off—Jesus making the bold claim that He is the bread of life. Now He goes even further—He insists that those who eat of this bread will live forever. Elijah, despairing and fearful of his life, wakes up to discover God is taking care of his physical and spiritual needs. How great to realize that the scope of God’s love includes not just our heavenly but earthly nourishment! Through such organizations like Food for the Poor, might we, like Paul says of the Ephesians, be accused of imitating God!
