As we enter this season of Lent, we enter of time of self-examination and repentance, a time to prepare ourselves for the transforming power of Easter. Today’s lessons focus on God’s provision and protection, even in times of turmoil. As Paul declares to the Romans, “All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved!” Thus, Jesus finds strength in Scripture when the devil tempts him; and the Israelites are commanded to remember the Lord their God, especially when things get comfortable. If God is for us, who can be against us?
