Hide and Seek

Passage: Job 23:1-9 16-17, Hebrews 4:12-16, Mark 10:17-31

[No Sermon Audio]
Life can ask a lot of us. God asks for even more. Often, we cannot fathom the reasons behind life’s hardships, but like Job we are called to seek God’s presence with us in their midst. The writer of Hebrews assures us that Jesus is with us in times of trial because He himself endured such trials for our sake. The Gospel lesson reminds us that when we question God’s intentions for us, it is usually our own choices that turn us away from Him—money or family or security or leisure we feel we cannot give up. Today we also recognize the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. LWML encourages and equips women to live out their lives in active mission ministries and to support missions through their sacrificial gifts of Mite Box offerings and tireless service.
