Still One Nation Under God

Pastor:
Passage: 2 Thessalonians 2:1-5,2 Thessalonians 2:13-17,Luke 20:27-38

Is there a future beyond this week’s election? Today’s lessons answer with a resounding, “Yes!” Haggai comforts those who remembered Solomon’s temple in its heyday, saying that the new temple will be even greater. Paul reassures the Thessalonians anxious about the delay in the Lord’s return that they have nothing to fear. Jesus responds to an inane question about the resurrection proclaiming that God is God of the living, not the dead, and that those who rise again are like angels who can no longer die. Maybe we don’t know the details, or have something in our hands right no--but isn’t it better to be in His hands in whom we trust?
