“Turn aside”—an interesting term. Knowing when to turn aside can make all the difference in the world. Moses sees a bush ablaze with fire but not burning and turns aside to see. Only then does God call him to free His people. Paul exhorts the church in Rome to turn aside any feelings of resentment, and repay evil with good instead. Peter attempts to turn Jesus aside, but is rebuked as if Satan himself is speaking through him. If we are to find our lives, we must lose them. Such turning aside must take place if we are to stand on holy ground.
