We start the “countdown to glory,” finding ourselves focused on the last things…or at least the last weeks of the church year. We live in a world where many claim to speak for God, to hold the exclusive truth of Jesus Christ. In today’s Gospel, Jesus warns us to be wary. Many will come in His name, claiming His power, assuming His authority. This is a sign that the end is near. The people of God must be on guard and alert, standing firm until He returns.
