“Don’t Say a Word!”

Pastor:
Passage: Isaiah 35:4-7a, James 2:1-10, 14-17, Mark 7:24-37

Jesus attracted great crowds of people despite expressly telling them not to say a word to others about him. Perhaps because those drawn to him were desperate. Jesus still attracts those kind of people—those at the end of their rope; those needing compassion and healing in the worst way. All the more reason for us in the Church to take his healing words to heart: “Ephphratha—be opened!” As James points out, faithful followers of Jesus need to be care-full (full of care), especially to those in need.
