Waiting and watching is central to the spiritual life. In the face of injustice and abuse by the powerful, Habakkuk declares that he will watch and wait until God answers his prayers. God promises a vision that does not lie—where the righteous will live by faith. Zaccheaus climbs a tree as he waits to see Jesus. In response, salvation comes to his house that day. Our waiting and watching will be rewarded, too.
