Make Yourself Useful!

Pastor:
Passage: Jeremiah 18:1-11,Philemon 1:1-21,Luke 14:25-33

Jesus never promised that discipleship would be easy. He calls us to deny ourselves, and take up our crosses as follow Him. He also urges us to count the costs before we do, with a warning that those costs might be steep. Paul encourages Philemon to receive back his wayward slave—treat him as a brother—even though he had apparently stolen from him. Jeremiah puts it into perspective: it is God who is control, the Potter shaping us and fashioning us for His purpose. We’re putty in His hands.
