Judgment and forgiveness are the focus of our lessons this week. We have people acting badly, people in distress, people who commit sins of omission, plus people who are deeply faithful, who follow and support Jesus—all overshadowed by the theme of judgment and forgiveness. But it is a judgment and forgiveness that belongs to God, not human beings. We find our true selves—our very lives—in being faithful to Jesus’ teachings and life. We find hope and forgiveness in a love that did not count the costs.
