God is wholly involved in our world. Ezekiel describes Him being among the scattered, injured sheep of Israel who provides a shepherd. In Ephesians Christ is described as the one who “Fills everything in every way.” Yet at the same time He is enthroned above our word—beyond the day to deal with goings-on, apart from the scattering and injuring, the binding up and the gathering. To which do we focus as we give honor and glory to our King? Both. In Christ we worship God above and beyond us, but one also incarnate, at work in all who believe.
