Jesus’ baptism was “from heaven,” that is, it was a miraculous moment of divine intervention.  It changes everything, by equipping servants with power.  The servant “in whom God delights” who is baptized is like the one “blessed with the power and strength of God’s spirit” that Isaiah prophesies.  This Sunday we celebrate Jesus’ baptism—one of purifying water and empowering Spirit—in light of God’s own grace washing over us, too.
