On this day the Church continues it procession with our crucified and risen Lord. He is in our midst as we hear about his life-giving death, as we follow Jesus’ last hours. At the beginning of this great week, the Passion Gospel sets forth the central mystery of the Christian faith: Christ emptied himself in death so that we might know God’s mercy and love for all creation.
