THEME OF THE DAY

“Where are you?” This question is the connecting link between today’s lessons. God wants to know where His people are, and is always aware of their struggles and joys. We can never fall out of God’s sight. His eyes are always lovingly on us. He sent His Son like a good shepherd, to search and find, live and die for us. Granted, Jesus’ rather ambivalent attitude toward his own family might be a bit awkward; but there is nothing unclear about his clarification: “Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”

LESSONS

OLD TESTAMENT LESSON: Genesis 3:1-15

What happens when Adam and Eve eat the fruit the Lord God told them not to eat.

EPISTLE LESSON: 2 Corinthians 4:13 - 5:1

Paul highlights the difference between life on earth and life in heaven.

GOSPEL LESSON: Mark 3:20-35

Jesus’ mother and brothers try to get him, thinking that He’s crazy; and the scribes pronounce that He is possessed by Satan—it’s no wonder He sees those who do God’s will as his true family.
