What’s Your Sabbath?
It’s what’s inside that counts. We know that idea very well—whether it’s a bag of potato chips whose contents have “settled,” leading to a puffed up bag only half filled or the hidden motives that prompt external deeds. It is what lies at the core of a person that truly defines him or her. Today’s lessons show that even a good external framework, the Sabbath, can bring out the worst in people. And yet, as Paul tells the Corinthians, the light of God in the glory of Christ can shine brightly, even through the rudest of containers.
