What did Jesus teach? He was all about saying “No!” to the causes and effects of sin and a superficial religion that is prideful. But he was also about saying “Yes!” to the way of the cross—submission to the Father, solidarity with human pain, and freedom to be weak and vulnerable, trusting in God’s strength. He pulled no punches and got under the skin of those who thought they were righteous. Even his own hometown rejected his teaching and tried to kill him. Is our reaction to his message any different?
