God calls us to walk in ways that lead to life and abundance. In his final address, Moses points out that there are consequences to following a different path. Jesus calls for a deeper, more faithful understanding of God’s laws—to love faithfully, speak truthfully, and be eager to reconcile with those with whom we have differences. However, lest we think it depends on what we do, Paul reminds us that God alone gives the growth.
