Both Moses and Jesus had mountaintop experiences. Transfiguration is the turning point of both the Gospel narrative and the Church year. Jesus sets his face toward Jerusalem, and so do we. With all the light and glory on display, Peter wanted to stay on the mountain; but the memory of Christ radiantly transfigured before his eyes is something he would remember, long after he and the rest of the disciples returned to the valley.
