Not Ignorant About Death

Passage: Joshua 24:1-3,Joshua 24:14-25,1 Thessalonians 4:13-18,Matthew 25:1-13

“There’s always tomorrow.” We drift along, most of us, from day to day, lulling ourselves into complacency. Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow? Yet Jesus teaches that the kingdom of God demands our attention today. It requires decision, preparation, expectation. “Choose this day whom you will serve!” Joshua demands of his assembled people. Jesus question, hidden amidst his story, is a more subtle one to answer: When God breaks into our lives, will we be ready?
