Making Saints

Pastor:
Passage: Joshua 3:7-17,1 Thessalonians 2:9-13,Matthew 23:1-12

Jesus sums it up: “The greatest among you should be a servant.” He scolds the Pharisees for not practicing what they preach. Paul reminds the Thessalonians they worked hard so as not to be a burden to them. The priests of Israel bravely waded into the floodwaters of the Jordan so that the people could cross safely. Humility and gratitude for God’s mercy should make us embrace servanthood. And the toughest, yet most effective, way of showing that is by forgiveness. Saints realize this, and see a bit of heaven in both the forgiving and the being forgiven.
