We human beings have our limits…especially when it comes to forgiving others. A wrong suffered, particularly when our honor or self-respect is involved, is the most difficult to forgive.
That’s why Joseph is such a great example. Through our forgiving those who wrong us, God turns evil into good. Still, we want forgiveness to work! We need to remember that Jesus is the one who has extravagantly forgiven us—first! He thereby rearranges our notions of justice and what we think is fair or not. Or at least He should.
