The Macbeth Effect, the Pilate Delusion, and the Isaiah Directive
Is He coming or not? Isaiah warns us that God is not pleased with hollow worship and self-serving sacrifice. In Hebrews, we are reminded of our ancestors’ faith in things unseen, and their placing their hope on what is yet to come. Luke tells us that God takes pleasure in opening up His kingdom to us. We must be alert, therefore, and ready to take action—confessing our sins, trusting in God’s promises, and being ready for His coming. Such is the challenge of faith.
