The Disease of Ease

Pastor:
Passage: Hosea 11:1-11,Colossians 3:1-11,Luke 12:13-21

There is a colossal difference between relying on wealth and a life dependent upon God; and today’s lessons make that clear, Hosea pronounces judgment on Israel’s idolatry and unfaithfulness; yet from a loving parent, forgiveness is offered and deliverance is promised. In Colossians we see that because of Christ’s life in us, we are called to seek the values of heaven over the values of earth. In the parable of the rich fool, Jesus also warns against trusting in the wrong things. The rich man may feel secure and comfortable, but it proves to be meaningless in death. True wealth is found not in possessions, but in a solid relationship with God.
