“You Got Jesus in There?”
“When the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman…” In a small, out of the way town, a baby is born, and laid in a feeding trough. It is hard to imagine a more humble, more humiliating way for God to come into the world than this. Paul describes this as Christ “emptying himself;” his being obedient unto death from his very birth. Today we celebrate Christmas, the incarnation, God taking on human flesh for our redemption. And if it seems strange doing in the middle of summer, may it remind us He is with us every day, no matter what the season.
